Curt Sahakian is Vice President General Counsel of Resource Information Management Systems, Inc., a leading vendor of health claims processing systems to the healthcare and insurance industries (10% of all US health claims are processed on RIMS systems). He has over 20 years experience in many segments of industry, including experience as both a lawyer and business strategist. Sahakian has contributed to the success of Resource Information Management Systems, Inc. and Liant Software Corporation, two INC 500 companies listed in INC Magazine's list of fastest growing privately held companies. His background includes experience developing and planning business ventures in rapidly changing marketplaces. During his professional career Sahakian has participated in countless business transactions in industries as varied as advertising, biomed, biotech, chemical, computer, confectionery, construction, consulting, distribution, electronics, energy, entertainment, food, gaming, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, medical, real estate, retail, securities, software, and telecommunications. Sahakian has served as Vice President of Business Development for artificial intelligence pioneer, Dynaquest Corporation, as a member of the MIT Enterprise Forum's Entrepreneurial Services Committee, and as General Manager of Winthrop Financial Group, Inc., a multi-million dollar equipment leasing company. He has lectured at DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and is a member of the Strategic Leadership Forum, an international society of strategic planners. Sahakian is a graduate of the John Marshall Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review and graduated with distinction. His undergraduate education included studies in both economics and data processing. After earning his J.D., he trained under Arthur Berlin at the law firm of Myer, New, Berlin, and Braude. Sahakian has been active in providing continuing legal education to the organized bar, including lecturing, writing, and organizing seminars. He is a member of the American, Illinois, and Chicago Bar Associations, and past chairperson of the Chicago Bar Association Computer Law Committee and the Chicago Bar Association High-Tech Finance Sub-Committee. He has chaired, organized, spoken at and/or authored materials for bar sponsored courses and seminars including: "Marketing and Protecting Rights in Computer Software," "Financing Software Companies With R&D Partnerships," "Raising Venture Capital For High-tech Industry," and "Contracting for Computers and Related Services."
